Speakey will be designed to work with your computer’s microphone. In settings where acoustic discretion matters, a specialised headset may complement the experience.
What the headset changes
Without helmet
- Your voice carries through the room.
- Depending on volume and distance, nearby people may understand some words.

Before buying anything
Prefer a wired connection
In hands-free mode, Bluetooth can heavily compress the microphone. A jack or USB cable better preserves bass voice frequencies.
Place the microphone close to the mouth
Two to three centimeters, slightly sideways. Placement often matters more than the price of the mic.
Avoid overly aggressive filters
Some filters mistake a very low voice for noise and cut it off. Test them disabled if words disappear.
Use the microphone recognized by the system
Built-in, wired, USB, Bluetooth or Skyted: compatibility with system-recognised inputs will be tested during development.
Three questions
Do I really need a helmet?
No. Start with your materials. The headset becomes useful if you dictate in public and want to limit what others understand.
Does the headset record my voice?
No. It is an audio peripheral. Speakey receives the microphone signal to process dictation. The service retention policy is described under Your data.
Where to order a Skyted headset?
The headset is a Skyted product offered separately from Speakey. Purchase and team-equipment terms will be published once validated.
